MOUSE TEST

Mouse Double Click Test

Test mouse buttons and measure rapid click pairs. Click normally, one deliberate click at a time, to check for possible unintended double clicks.

Input Device Tests

Click a mouse button

Use one deliberate click at a time. Test primary, secondary and middle buttons, plus Mouse 4 and Mouse 5 where browser support allows. Hold a button to measure duration.

Mouse button test area

Click, right-click or press and hold a button below.

No button held. Release events will appear here.

Some browsers or operating systems intercept Mouse 4 and Mouse 5. A missing event does not show that a physical button is broken.

What this means: rapid pairs can be intentional. The test reports measured timing and suspicious patterns, not a definitive switch diagnosis.

      ABOUT CLICK TIMING

      Measure each button separately

The test measures time between completed activations of the same button using the browser event clock. A rapid pair may be an intentional double click. Adjust the threshold to compare observations with your normal clicking.

Mouse hold duration starts on press and ends when the browser receives release. If the pointer leaves the page or the browser loses focus, the test clears held state rather than assuming the button is stuck.

      QUESTIONS

      Mouse double click FAQ

What counts as a possible double click?

This test flags a repeated activation of the same button when its measured interval is at or below your selected threshold. It is a timing observation, not proof the click was accidental.

Why not use only the browser double-click event?

Browser double-click timing is controlled by platform settings. Measuring event intervals directly lets you review the timings and choose a threshold for this test.

Why might Mouse 4 or Mouse 5 not appear?

Extra buttons can be intercepted for browser navigation or handled by the operating system. The page can report only events delivered to it.
